What sound does a giraffe make?

Various low pitch sounds, many too low for the human ear to detect

The human ear can generally detect sound vibrations from 20Hz to 20kHz. The giraffe can make sounds in the infrasonic range which is lower than 20Hz. Adult giraffes can make a variety of sounds from ‘whooshy’ type sounds to coughs and barks depending on the situation. Young giraffes emit higher pitched sounds including moos, bleats and snorts. Despite all of this, giraffes tend to be non-vocal.
